Updated: May 20, 2020
The Exam Blueprints for the April 2021 exam have been updated.
CIDQ completed a Practice Analysis (study) in September 2019, which identified the current knowledge and skills that a competent interior design professional needs to know to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public. The Practice Analysis resulted in new exam blueprints (content outlines) for all three sections of the NCIDQ Exam. Due to COVID-19, these updated blueprints go into effect during the spring administration, April 2021.
The following summarizes the changes:
Eliminated overlap within the test blueprints
Additional examples added for each knowledge statement
Greater alignment between knowledge areas and domains
Redistributed content from IDFX to IDPX, and from the IDPX to the PRAC
Life Safety and Universal Design become separate domains on the IDFX Increased emphasis placed on codes on the IDPX
